If she has her way…

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her…

…He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him…

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice…

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but he doesn’t even remember her. How can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish–and let the mistletoe do its work…

My Musings :

I received a copy from the author via Inkslinger PR.

I have read a few books of the author's so I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into. She hasn't disappointed me till now. I think The Trouble with Mistletoe is my new favourite among her books.

The story starts off with timely introduction of the protagonists, Willa and Keane. I loved the heroine,Willa from the beginning. She is so sweet, loyal to a fault, full of heart for her friends. At the same time, she is tough and strong. She is a contradiction at times. I didn't like Keane at the beginning. He felt detached and well, his past with Willa, had me feeling mild dislike for him. But his family history and the further insight into his character made me fall for him slowly but surely.

The supporting cast of Willa's friends and Keane's colleagues and especially his great-aunt made for a delightful interaction. The wit and banter, the joy and sadness and the romance were all crafted well by the author. Her writing style makes for an easy and fun read. The engaging characters are well developed and I am sure they will make for great sequels. I am so looking forward to reading the other books including the first one.

The book's pace was perfect and was neither slow nor fast. It set the mood for the sassy exchanges between Willa and Keane. The chemistry between them was off the charts. They gel together well! I really felt the pair was matched well. In short, it was an adorable and fun read!

My rating : 5/5
