Review:

When the first book ended, I didn't waste any time and continued reading the sequel. I have to say that this book felt longer than the first. As you read my musings, you will know why.

The story started off where it ended in the first book. From there, it zoomed off but then slowed down a bit. The first half was slow. It was more emotion and character based than plot. And that's the reason for my lengthier thought. I am not saying that it was boring. On the contrary it was as interesting as the action. Only thing is that I felt it could have been shortened.

I loved reading more of Sawyer and her inner thoughts and feelings. I didn't see much of that in the previous book. So I was glad I had this chance to get in real touch with her. But I felt disappointed at the way the author introduced a triangle love story in here. I didn't expect it and I didn't like it much either. For the sake of the story, I was okay with it but then it's my personal opinion. It didn't feel right. But situation wise and plot wise, the twist it had given the story felt right.

The mysterious twists and turns in the plot had not been lost in it. There were few surprises which kept me engrossed. I don't want to spoil it so I am not taking any names. But I loved the return of the one-who-will-not-be-named-in-my-musings. Phew! that's long and no it's not in connection with Harry Potter.

The second half fulfilled my action quota and it was fast, literally. I didn't have any time to react at all and the ending has to be mentioned. It was so unexpected and of course a cliffhanger. Where would we be without that kind of ends? Anyway right now I am awaiting the sequel impatiently. Inspite of the slow start, it hasn't lessened my interest in the series.

I received a free copy for reviewing purposes. This doesn't affect my review in any way and these are my own views.

My one line review : A character based story with less action and more introspection.

My rating : 4/5

My reread factor : 4/5
