My Musings
I had heard good things about the book from others before I picked it up. So I was eager to explore the story. When I first started reading it, it felt like the typical romance book. The cliches were all there in the first part of the book - the meeting between Vihaan and Riaa, their exuberant love and the way Vihaan tries to impress her. I admit I was a bit disappointed at first. But as I read further, I understood why others were impressed.
The deft handling of the story with its unexpected twists and turns by the author adds the bit of surprise and variety to the tale. This is what kept me reading and enjoying the story. As much as the beginning of the romance was a bit humdrum, the ending was unique and heart rending. I came away from the book with a full heart and mind.
Though the author kept the language simple, at times it felt like it could have been a bit more tight especially in the earlier chapters. The fast paced story didn't have me spending much time on gobbling up the book. I had total fun and enjoyed it! I believe I will not hesitate to pick read Ridhi Drolia's works in the future. The Untold Story is such that it leaves a mark on the reader. And I am happy that I read this book!
My one line review : A atypical romance with a message!
My rating : 4.5/5
My reread factor : 4/5
